About the International Financial Architecture Group:
The International Financial Architecture group analyses developments in the global political economy and changes in its institutional arrangements in the wake of the global financial crisis. Its current primary focus is the ongoing process of supervisory and regulatory reform of finance in Europe. A working group meets regularly to discuss issues relating to this process. This high-level group contains academic economists, banking specialists, legal experts and accountants. Its aim is to contribute to the policy debate about how we build a European financial system that works to the interest of all member states. Its findings will be published by the IIEA.
Previous speakers on international financial architecture include:
Bo Lundgren, Director General of the Swedish National Debt Office
Geir H. Haarde, former Prime Minister of Iceland
James K. Galbraith, Professor of Government at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs
Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the European Central Bank
Charlie McCreevy, European Commissioner for the Internal Market
Prof. Norbert Walter, Chief Economist of Deutsche Bank Group
