Easy Guide to the European Parliament Elections

The European elections will take place in Ireland on Friday 7 June 2024. Irish and EU citizens resident in Ireland aged 18 or over can vote provided that they are registered to do so by Monday 20 May 2024.

The European Parliament elections take place every 5 years, and the June elections will shape the future of the European Parliament from 2024-2029. The Easy Guide to the European Parliament Elections is a visual guide for these elections. The visuals refer to the current European Parliament which has been in place since 2019, the European Parliament political groups, and maps of the updated European Parliament constituency borders, changed in November 2023 which added Laois and Offaly to the Midlands–North-West constituency. Further, it outlines which Irish MEPs are standing for re-election, which constituencies they represent in the European Parliament, and which groups they are linked with in the European Parliament.

This infographic is simple, clear, and colourful and aims to make the voting public aware of what lies ahead.
