Daire Lawler
Senior Researcher (Economics and Finance)
Daire Lawler is the IIEA’s Senior Researcher, specialising in Economics and Finance, and is the Chair of the IIEA’s Young Professionals Network (YPN). Daire previously served as the President of Young Fine Gael, the youth wing of the Fine Gael party, and was a member of the Fine Gael Executive Council, the party’s national executive. During this time, he developed policy proposals on behalf of the Fine Gael party for the Programme for Government 2020-2025. Prior to working at the IIEA, Daire worked in the office of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in Washington, D.C., in State Street Corporation, and is an alumnus of the Washington Ireland Program for Service and Leadership. He studied Economics and Mathematics in Trinity College Dublin and was a recipient of the All Ireland Scholarship, the Trinity College Gold Medal for Academic Achievement, and the Trinity College Entrance Exhibition Scholarship. Daire is currently the Chair of the All Ireland Scholarships (AIS) Alumni Association, which develops a programme of activity for the community of recipients of the All Ireland Scholarship on the island of Ireland.
