The Impact of the War in Ukraine on the Indo-Pacific Region: Japan, the EU and the Free and Open Indo-Pacific

He discusses how these events might impact the Indo-Pacific region, where Japan has been playing a leading role in consolidating ‘the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)’ since 2016.

About the Speaker:

Yuichi Hosoya, Ph.D., is professor of international politics at Keio University, Tokyo.He is currently Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge.  Former member of Prime Minister’s Advisory Panel on Reconstruction of the Legal Basis for Security (2013-14), his research interests include British diplomatic history, Japanese foreign and security policy, and contemporary East Asian international politics.
