In Conversation with Dr Fiona Hill

In-conversation with Pádraig Murphy, Chair of the IIEA’s Foreign Policy Group, and former Irish Ambassador to Russia, Dr Hill explores her latest book, There Is Nothing for You Here: Finding Opportunity in the 21st Century, in which she examines declining opportunity in the United States and the United Kingdom. Provocatively arguing that modern Russia represents “the Ghost of Christmas Future” for the United States, Dr Hill asserts Russia could become a harbinger of things to come for the US unless it heals the wounds of increasing political polarisation. She reflects on these themes and offer her insights on wider foreign policy challenges for the transatlantic partnership.
