Enforcing The Digital Markets Act

In his address to the IIEA, Thomas Kramler discusses the main features of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) which will enter into force in October 2022. He discusses how the European Commission is preparing for the enforcement of the DMA and its strategy to ensure that the DMA is effectively enforced. He also discusses how third-party stakeholders in the digital economy can contribute to the successful enforcement of the DMA.

About the Speaker:

Thomas Kramler is head of the unit for e-commerce and the data economy in the European Commission's Directorate General for Competition. He was previously Head of the Digital Single Market Task Force responsible for the e-commerce sector inquiry. Mr Kramler also served as deputy head of the unit for antitrust in the information industries, internet and consumer electronics sectors. Before joining the European Commission, he worked as an agent representing the Austrian government before the European Courts in Luxemburg.
