Brexit Brief Issue 150

Brexit Brief. Issue 150 of the Brexit Brief notes the current state of play between the UK and the EU.

This issue of the Brexit Brief covers the responses to the Windsor Framework in Belfast, Brussels, London, and Dublin. While the new agreement has been broadly welcomed, questions remain over the functioning of the new Stormont Brake, and the DUP have yet to declare their position. Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has established a panel, largely made up of leading DUP figures, to consult the unionist community on their views of the Framework, while a recent LucidTalk poll reveals that three quarters of DUP voters are opposed the new agreement. Meanwhile, Alliance Party Leader, Naomi Long, has called for reforms to the Stormont voting system in order to give parties designated as “other” (neither nationalist nor unionist) an equal say in major decisions.
