Brexit Brief 124

The UK’s new point-person for Brexit matters, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, met with her EU counterpart, European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, for the first time on Thursday, 13 January 2022. The two met at the Foreign Secretary’s ‘grace and favour’ residence – Chevening House - to pick up the negotiations, which had paused before Christmas following the resignation of Lord Frost. This edition of the Brexit Brief covers these developments, and brings together reaction from the UK, EU and Ireland. The Brexit Brief, now in its seventh year, is written by Tony Brown, IIEA Senior Fellow, on behalf of the IIEA’s UK Expert Group.
