“Eurovision with a Difference” European Political Parties, Lead Candidates and the 2024 European Elections

The European Parliament elections will take place in Ireland on Friday 7 June 2024. Irish and EU citizens resident in Ireland aged 18 or over can vote, once registered.
While the citizens across the EU will vote to elect Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in the first week of June, EU leaders will meet later in June to nominate a new President of the European Commission. This candidate will then be accepted or rejected by the newly convened European Parliament. Ahead of this process, several transnational European political parties (Europarties) have put forward common transnational candidates for the President of the European Commission. On 23 May, the European Broadcast Union (EBU) will host a Eurovision Debate with several of the common transnational lead candidates where they will showcase their visions for Europe.
This infographic aims to make the voting public aware of the upcoming Eurovision Debate, an overview of the common transnational lead candidates from each Europarty, and how they connect to Irish political parties.
