In his address, Philip Lane discussed the macro-financial outlook for Ireland. His remarks included an analysis of the macro-financial prospects, the resilience of the financial system and the implications of Brexit for the Irish economy.

 

About the Speaker:

Mr. Philip R. Lane has been Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland since November 2015. Governor Lane is currently on leave from his position as Whately Professor of Political Economy at Trinity College Dublin, where he began lecturing in 1997. He received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 1995 and was Assistant Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Columbia University between 1995 and 1997. Governor Lane, who was the inaugural recipient of the Bernacer Prize in Monetary Economics, has chaired the Advisory Scientific Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board and was Director of the International Macroeconomics and Finance Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
