Europe at a time of crisis and transformation

After decades of remarkable success, the EU is facing a number of unprecedented crises and challenges at once: the ongoing Russian war against Ukraine, the economic consequences of both the war and the COVID-19 pandemic, and the geographical and technological transformations required in order to meet the ambitious goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. In his address to the IIEA, Peter Altmaier discusses how Europe can emerge stronger from this challenge, provided the necessary strategic choices and decision are made in due time.
