Artificial Intelligence: The Emerging Regulatory Regime

Artificial Intelligence: The Emerging Regulatory Regime

In this event, jointly organized by the IIEA and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Ireland, expert panellists explore the economic and business implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the EU’s AI Act. Speakers were drawn from the worlds of politics, public policy, academia, and industry, and will discuss what recent developments in AI regulation may herald for businesses, innovation, and investment in Ireland and Europe. Panellists reflect on the current state of AI technology in Europe; the major strengths and weaknesses of the EU’s AI Act for business and society; and how businesses might achieve legislative compliance with the Act in a manner that is both economical and effective. This event explores the challenges and opportunities that AI technologies specifically pose for Ireland, and for Ireland’s attractiveness as a venue for foreign direct investment.
