Recovery, Strength, Belonging: Key Priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU

This briefing outlines the priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union beginning on 1 January 2022. France’s Presidency will prioritise the development of a more sovereign EU better able to protect and promote its interests, a new economic growth model for the EU, and a more social and human Union. The French Presidency will oversee the conclusion of the Conference on the Future of Europe and focus on migration, defence, EU-Africa relations, the climate transition, digital regulation, and EU budget reform.
