Brexit Brief 118

The debate over the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland moved to a new, and highly charged, phase, with a speech by the UK Minister of State for the Cabinet Office, Lord Frost, to a diplomatic gathering in Lisbon. Meanwhile, European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič delivered a keynote address to the IIEA on the subject of the Protocol, a well as a speech to journalists in Brussels on his proposal’s on resolving outstanding issues surrounding the Protocol’s implementation. This edition of the Brexit Brief covers these developments, and brings together reaction from the UK, EU and Ireland.

The Brexit Brief is written by Tony Brown, IIEA Senior Fellow, on behalf of the IIEA’s UK Expert Group.
