Michael Patten

After a 30 year executive-level career, Michael Patten recently retired from his position as Chief Environmental, Social, Governance (“ESG”) & Corporate Affairs Officer at Glanbia plc and as a member of the Group’s Executive Committee. He held responsibility for the development and implementation of Glanbia’s ESG strategy including climate transition as well as strategic leadership of the Group’s global reputation and public affairs agenda. Prior to this, Michael served as Glanbia’s Chief HR Officer from 2014-2021.

Before joining Glanbia, Michael served as Global Public Affairs Director with Diageo plc, with responsibilities including international trade, tax and market access and EU Affairs. Earlier in his career, he served as Glanbia’s Director of Communications.

Michael is currently a Non Executive Director and Committee Chair of the Irish Management Institute (IMI) and also serves as a Board member and former Chairman of the Charitable Infirmary Charitable Trust. He was previously a Non Executive Director of Tirlan DAC. He is a Chartered Director, an Honorary Life Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland and a graduate of DCU.
