About the Speech:

On Thursday, 22 February 2007, Dermot Ahern, the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, gave the Institute's annual"State of the Union" address. The Ministers speech, entitled: "The EU at 50: Celebrating Achievements and Facing the Future", marks the fiftieth anniversary of the EU. This was a special occasion, on which the Minister outlined past achievements and future challenges facing the EU.

Dermot Ahern is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He is a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Louth constituency.
