About the Speech:   Mr Vimont, who was appointed in June of this year as European Council President Donald Tusk’s personal envoy to lead preparations for the Valletta Summit, will discuss how coordinated European action is imperative to lessen the burden that migration has placed upon EU Member States. He will also elaborate upon the conclusions of the Valletta Summit and discuss EU initiatives with third countries to tackle the causes of illegal migration and combat the smuggling and trafficking of human beings.
