The liberal order is rigged

IIEA23rd January 20191min
Professor Jeff D. Colgan discussrd the decline of the current liberal order and analyse the options available for cooperation between states in the post-cold war order.

In his address to the IIEA, Professor Colgan argued that the liberal order has become self-defeating, as evidenced in growing economic inequality, and the emerging politics of outrage. He argued that there is no sustainable political future in clinging to the liberal order of yesterday, or in ripping it apart. He instead proposed differentiated, multi-speed cooperation between states. With the passing of the post-Cold War unipolar moment, the United States and its allies must rather adapt to a diverse, multipolar system.
