About the Speaker:

Dr Joachim Lang is the Director General of Federation of German Industries (BDI) and Member of the Presidential Board. Prior to joining BDI, Joachim Lang was coordinator for federal, state and European affairs for the whip of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. He moved to the Federal Chancellery in 2006, where he was responsible for coordinating the German government’s European policy during the then EU Council Presidency. From 2007 until 2016, Joachim Lang headed the Berlin office of E.ON, a DAX-listed energy company.
