Judge Eugene Regan discussed the role of the CJEU and the changes that may arise in the CJEU post-Brexit as well as issues such as maintain the rule of law and the preservation of EU values. About the Speaker:

On 7 October 2015, Judge Eugene Regan became a Judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union and was just appointed the President of the Fifth Chamber, becoming the first Irish Judge to be elected president of one of the chambers. Judge Regan was Chairman of the Lawyers’ Group and Project Leader of the Justice and Home Affairs Group at the IIEA from 1998 to 2015. Previously, Judge Regan was a member of the Seanad and practiced as a Barrister and Senior Counsel.
