This event will kick-off with some drinks and mince pies, to give our members a chance to meet and catch up.
Fianna Fáil’s Brexit spokesperson, Lisa Chambers TD, will offer a political perspective on Brexit and its implications for Ireland, as well as touching upon significant domestic events, such as the referendum on the 8th amendment and the presidential election. Shona Murray, Brussels Correspondent for Euronews, will offer a view from the ground on Brexit, while also dealing with other important European issues, such as the future of Europe debate and the Article 7 proceedings against Hungary and Poland. On the academic side, Ben Tonra, Professor of International Relations at UCD, will present an overview of global developments and offer insight on international affairs, including President Trump’s foreign policy, Saudi Arabia and Russia.
The reception will begin at 6.15p.m. on Thursday, 20 December 2018 at the IIEA, 8 North Great George’s Street, Dublin 1, and the panel discussion will start at 7.00p.m. This event is free and open to all members of the IIEA’s Young Professionals’ Network and please feel free to circulate the details to friends and colleagues.
