YPN with Caitríona Heinl – The Cyber Threat Landscape in Ireland

In her presentation, Caitríona will first discuss the global threat landscape by analysing the strategic implications of evolving cyber tactics, the complex nature of cyber threats and what these might mean for Ireland. She will also highlight several ways for Ireland to meet its responsibilities to counter the potential impact of foreign states’ activities on Irish security.
About the Speaker:
Caitríona Heinl is Director and Founder of The Azure Forum for Contemporary Security Strategy, Ireland. She is also an Executive Strategist at the strategic consulting firm EXEDEC, and an Associate Partner at Vedette Consulting Ireland. She is a member of the Irish Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade ‘Foreign Policy Network’. She has built up over ten years’ experience working in think tank and academic environments including roles with the Centre of Excellence for National Security at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; the ASPI International Cyber Policy Centre, Canberra; and Leiden University Institute of Security and Global Affairs. Caitríona holds an MPhil in International Relations from Cambridge University and graduated in Commerce and Law (BBLS) from University College Dublin and the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
