We regret to inform you that this keynote address by Ann Mettler, which was scheduled for next Thursday, 22 March 2018, has been postponed. In her capacity as an advisor to European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, Ms Mettler has been requested to be available to President Juncker during the European Council meeting, which will take place on the same day. We are working with Ms Mettler’s office to arrange a new date for her address in the near future
About the Speech:
Speaking to the European Parliament in September 2017, European Commission President Juncker expressed his optimism for the future of the European Union, declaring that the “wind is back in Europe’s sails”. In her address to the IIEA, Ann Mettler, Director-General at the European Commission where she heads the European Political Strategy Centre, will outline the practical steps and strategic plan that the EU27 must take in order to best capitalise on this revived sense of optimism for Europe. She will discuss the need for a strong Union, with ambitious priorites, that best serves the interest of its citizens.
