Two years after the Paris Agreement entered into force on 4 November 2016, and in advance of the upcoming COP24 United Nations conference to be held in Katowice, Poland, from 13 to 14 December 2018, the French Embassy in Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) and Trócaire have come together to hold a public event on the subject of climate change, one of the key political, diplomatic, economic, social and ecological challenges of the 21st century.

Taking place in Trinity College Dublin on Monday 5 November 2018, Creative Responses to Climate Change: A Marketplace for Ideas will provide a space for dialogue, information-sharing and creativity, and will bring together key figures involved in the climate negotiations, civil society representatives and activists, and interested citizens. Opening speeches will be delivered by Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, and Ségolène Royal, former Minister and President of COP21.

The programme will consider all aspects of the climate change challenge, from the global issues at stake, to those at the heart of everyday life. The day will provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about the international climate negotiations, to talk to players from the North and South of the planet and to discover ways to take concrete action every day.

This free event is focused on exchanging ideas, and will showcase solutions being developed to meet the climate change challenge.

More details on speakers, the programme and ways to register for this event will be announced in due course.
