About the Speaker

Cyril Roux has been the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland with responsibility for financial regulation since October 2013. Mr Roux, who holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, is also the Chair of the Investment Management Standing Committee of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Before taking up his position at the Central Bank of Ireland, Mr Roux was the First Deputy Secretary General at the French Prudential and Supervisory Resolution Authority (ACPR), which was founded in 2010. Prior to this he was Deputy Secretary General of the Mutual Insurance Supervisory Authority (ACAM). He also held a variety of positions in a distinguished ten-year career at AXA.
