In his address to the IIEA, Geraint Talfan Davies gave a Welsh perspective on Brexit, including a discussion of the issues arising from Brexit for devolved powers, and an analysis of the rationale behind the Welsh leave vote. In this timely address which took place shortly after the Conservative Party conference in the UK, Mr Talfan Davies provided an insight into the Welsh view of the state of play of negotiations and relations with the EU following Brexit.

 

About the Speaker:

Geraint Talfan Davies is Chair of Wales for Europe and was Chair of Wales Stronger in Europe during the 2016 referendum. He has spent a lifetime in journalism, broadcasting and the arts. He was Controller of BBC Wales in the 1990s and is the co-founder and past Chair of the Institute of Welsh Affairs. Since the referendum he has authored a report on Europe and higher education and culture in Wales – The Single Market of the Mind – and, this summer, a diary of recent events, Unfinished Business, Journal of an Embattled European.
