Brexit Brief 68

IIEA9th July 20191min
Issue 68 of the Brexit Brief notes the current state of play in the Brexit debate and collates relevant news from Ireland, the UK and the rest of the EU.

Hustings for the final two candidates for the Tory leadership race are being held around the UK, as Conservative Party Members vote. All ballot papers must be posted back by 22 July, and the result will be expected the following day.

A change of leadership in Brussels is also underway, as nominations for the EU top jobs were announced on 2 July 2019. This edition of the Brexit Brief notes these developments, and the state of play in Ireland, where no-deal contingency planning is stepped up, as the EU is expected to seek assurances that the integrity of the Single Market will be protected.
