Issue 52 of the IIEA Brexit Brief can be downloaded here.
After an eventful December, in which Theresa May postponed the UK Parliament’s ‘meaningful vote’ on the EU Withdrawal Agreement in order to seek further concessions from Brussels, the Brexit debate is gathering speed again. The Prime Minister used her New Year Message to urge MPs to allow the UK to “turn a corner” by voting in favour of the deal. However, as the House of Commons resumes its debate ahead of the expected 15 January vote, the outcome remains deeply uncertain.
Brexit Brief, published by the IIEA’s UK Project Group, covers developments in the on-going debate over the UK’s vote to Leave the European Union. It is part of a wider communications programme, which will be highlighted on the Institute’s website.
