Making Sense of European Security Policy: Ireland and the Lisbon Treaty

1 of a series of 3

Developed with the support of the European Commission for the project Europe 2.0, the pamphlet Making Sense of European Security and Defence Policy: Ireland and the Lisbon Treaty is part of a three part series addressing European policies.  The series, which also addresses Justice Policy and Social Policy, is easy to understand and targeted at young people and those who want to find out more about the EU.

The pamphlet explores the European Union's defence policy, and more specifically the role Irish forces play in the implementation of these policies.  Moreover, the pamphlet addresses the many myths surrounding European defence and outlines the changes that will occur following the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty.  Finally, the pamphlet looks at EU defence in relation to Irish interests.

All three pamphlets are available free of charge.
