Tánaiste delivers State of the Union address
06 Jul 2011On July 4th 2011, in a major address to the IIEA, An Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore T.D. reflected on the challenges facing Ireland and the European Union. In particular, he focussed on the response to the sovereign debt crisis and Ireland’s contribution to achieving a solution. The key message of the new Government on Ireland’s relationship with Europe, he said, was its determination “to re-build our relationships, and restore our standing within the European Union.”
