New IIEA Publication on "ESDP and the Lisbon Treaty"

The IIEA has produced a new briefing paper on European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) and the Lisbon Treaty. The paper is an invaluable resource which explains developments in ESDP over the last six years and examines the implications of articles on ESDP in the Lisbon Treaty.  It includes as annexes the text of the Lisbon Guarantees, the Decision of EU Heads of State or Government, 19 June 2009, and the National Declaration by Ireland European Council Conclusions, 19 June 2009.

The paper is the latest in a series of collaborative publications for the IIEA on Ireland and ESDP by Professor Patrick Keatinge and Professor Ben Tonra.

About the authors:

Patrick Keatinge is Emeritus Associate Professor of Political Science at Trinity College Dublin and Chairperson of the IIEA working group on ESDP.

Ben Tonra is Jean Monnet Professor of European Foreign, Security and Defence Policy at the UCD College of Human Sciences and Project Leader of the IIEA working group on ESDP
