European Council President to address the IIEA in Dublin Castle
15 Jun 2011As the first full time President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy has been tasked with guiding the work of the European Council at a moment of deep crisis in the European Union.
As head of a special task force set up to examine ways to bolster the Eurozone's economic governance, and as chair of a number of pivotal summits of EU and Eurozone leaders, Van Rompuy has played a leading role in the formulation and promotion of the EU's policy response to Europe's financial and sovereign debt crises.
Ahead of a crucial European Council meeting on 23-24 June, we are delighted to welcome President Van Rompuy to Dublin where he will reflect on his experiences and chart a way forward for the European Union.
This event will mark the 20th anniversary of the Institute and is kindly sponsored by ESB. It takes place this Friday 17 June at 3pm in St. Patrick's Hall, Dublin Castle, Dublin 2.
