About the Speaker:
Prime Minister Gruevski is leader of the pro-European Christian Democratic Party VMRO-DPMNE.  He previously served as the Republic of Macedonia’s Minister for Finance before his appointment as Prime Minister in 2006.

About the Speech:
Prime Minister Gruevski outlined the economic dimension of the Republic of Macedonia’s relationship with the EU. The Republic of Macedonia has been a candidate for accession to the European Union since 2005 and it remains one of three candidate countries together with Turkey and Croatia.
