About the Speech:

This panel discussion involved analysing the present and future role of the ECN in terms of competition regulation. Particular focus was paid to the current level of interaction between the national competition authorities (NCAs) and the Commission, as well as the policy debates such as Private Damages and Article 82 Guidance, and formal dealings within the network with respect to Regulation 1/2003. Most importantly, there was also be a discussion of the potential future role of the ECN in light of the current pressures placed upon competition regulation.

About the Speakers:

Mr. Bruno Lasserre is Président of the Autorité de Concurrence in France, Mr. Alés Musil is the Head of Unit of the European Competition Network (ECN) Unit in DG Competition (European Commission) and Dr. Stanley Wong is a Member and Director in the Mergers Division with The Competition Authority.
