The EU Emissions Trading Scheme - Past Performance and Prospects for the Post-2012 Period

About the Speech:

Dr. Chodor will speak on the past performance of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) and discuss the ongoing review, now at the final drafting stage.

The post-2012 design issues which will be addressed include: EU-level allocation of emission allowances, increased auctioning and benchmarking, linking of the EU ETS with other trading schemes, the scope of the of EU ETS and the treatment of carbon permits from project mechanisms in developing countries.
