Erwan Fouere focused on the latest developments in FYROM, in particular on how the failure to promote effective political dialogue and an how inconsistent approach towards much needed reforms could impact negatively on the country's future. He proposed that 2011, the year which marks the 10th anniversary of the Ohrid Framework Agreement  offers a unique opportunity to reverse that trand and restore much needed trust in inter-ethnic relations.

Erwan Fouere was appointed EU Special Representative to FYROM in October 2005 and finished his term at the beginning of 2011. He was formerly head of Delegation in Slovenia, South Africa and Mexico and Cuba.
