About the Speech:
In this keynote address, Peter Sutherland reflected on the political and economic fallout from the escalating Euro crisis and outlined what he sees as Ireland's strategic interests in the European Union.

About the Speaker:
Peter Sutherland is the Chairman of Goldman Sachs International. He served as Irish Attorney General under two governments led by Garret Fitzgerald between 1981 and 1984. He was a member of the first Delors Commission from 1985-1989, as European Commissioner for Competition Policy, and was the Director General of GATT (now the WTO) from 1993-1995. A former chairman of BP, he recently authored a major report on the future of the Doha Round of world trade talks, together with Columbia economist, Jagdish Bhagwati, and a high-level expert group.
