About the Event:

Mr Ignatavicius outlined Lithuania’s approach to European Security.  In his presentation he discussed specific aspects of this approach such as relations with Russia and the role of the Organisation for Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) ahead of Lithuania’s Presidency of the OSCE in 2011.  In addition, Mr Ignatavicius offered a Lithuanian perspective on the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP).

Finally, Mr Ignatavicius explored Lithuania's relations with Ireland ahead of Ireland's presidency of the EU in 2013 in a trio which includes Lithuania and Greece.

About the Speaker:

Vice-minister Ignatavicius is responsible for security policy, ENP, relations with the EU's Eastern Neighbours (including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, South Caucasus) and Central Asia.  He is a former Lithuanian Ambassador to Germany.
