About the Event:

Alison Kelly of the Department of Foreign Affairs will brief a roundtable meeting on the outcome of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference, which took place from 03-28 May 2010 in New York. The briefing will take place at 12.45 p.m. on Tuesday 15 June 2010 at the IIEA.

More than 170 states participated in the 2010 RevCon, and a Final Document was adopted following lengthy and complex negotiations on the implementation of a resolution calling for a nuclear weapon free zone in the Middle East.

About the Speaker:

Alison Kelly is Deputy Political Director and Director for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation in the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland.  Her earlier assignments include Washington, Madrid, OSCE Vienna, Cairo and The Hague and the Political, European Union and Information Divisions in Dublin.
