Prof.Stavins has made an excellent introduction to economics of environment. But his predictions on success of global negotiatins on climate change are highly subjective and without any base. Does he not know that success & failure are highly relative terms?

About the Speaker:

Leading environmental economist, Robert Stavins, is the Albert Pratt Professor of Business and Government at the internationally renowned Belfer Center, Harvard, and Director of the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements. He is an expert on the dynamics of the UN climate negotiations.

A regular contributor to the New York Times and the Huffington Post, he has authored and edited many books on environmental economics and policy, including two major works on climate architecture – “Post-Kyoto International Climate Policy (2009)” and “Architectures for Agreement: Addressing Global Climate Change in the post-Kyoto World (2007).” He writes regularly online on his blog: An Economic View of the Environment.

As preparations for the next round of crucial climate negotiations in Durban commence, Robert Stavins discussed the prospects for the negotiations, the future of climate action beyond the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012, and the economics of climate change policy.
