About the Speech:

Jerome Morrissey's speech addressed the need for digital literacy in the smart economy and discuss the relationship between digital literacy, competitiveness and job creation. It focused on how Ireland can address the growing e-Skills gap, which will have profound implications for Irish businesses.

This was the last in our series on Digital Education, following on from the speeches by David Puttnam and Ade McCormack. 

About the Speaker:

Mr. Morrissey is the Director of the National Centre for Technology in Education, which is tasked with bringing Ireland's education system into the 21st century. He was the chairperson of the Strategy Group which wrote the seminal government reports, Investing Effectively in Information and Communications Technology in Schools 2008-2013 and ICT in Schools.
