"Is Europe Ready for a Major Banking Crisis?"

On Friday 5 October, the IEA hosted an address by Nicolas Véron, Research Fellow at Bruegel, on "Is Europe Ready for a Major Banking Crisis?".

Mr Véron addressed members on the topic of his most recent paper (with the same title) which was published last month. The paper assesses how well a major financial crisis can be dealt with by the domestic authorities given the recent wave of cross border banking consolidation, financial integration and the emergence of pan-European banks.
