Joint IIEA/Competition Authority Seminar

Interface between competition policy and consumer policy

About the Speech:

Our expert panel, composed of Dr. John Fingleton, Chief Executive of the UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT), Ms Anne FitzGerald, Chief Executive of the National Consumer Agency and Mr. William Prasifka, Chairperson of the Competition Authority, will discuss the experiences in Ireland and the UK.

This event is particularly timely, as the newly established National Consumer Agency aims to defend consumer interests and to embed a robust consumer culture in Ireland. The Agency will play an increasingly important role in working with businesses in helping them comply with regulatory obligations and to encourage best practice as regards consumer rights.
