About the Speech:

John Bell examined the role that innovation can play in helping Ireland exit the current economic crisis. Mr. Bell discussed the EU2020 flagship initiative Innovation Union.

About the Speaker:

John Bell is the Head of Cabinet for Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research and Innovation. Prior to this appointment, he served as Head of Cabinet for Meglena Kuneva, who was European Commissioner for Consumer Protection. He was also a member of Commissioner David Byrne’s Cabinet from 1998-2004, with responsibility for health and enlargement.
