No way should we bale out these irresponsible people who bought during the boom. Most of us could see that the housing market was seriously inflated and that the bubble would burst eventually. NOT A CHANCE.

Invite people under 40? why would they want this generation to contribute.. they might have some really good ideas and more to the point might not be already inculcated into the system and may suggest avenues repulsive to the stale status quo.

IIEA Young Professionals' Network Christmas Event. Review of 2009.

About the Event: 

“Review of the political, economic and social highlights of 2009” with Marc Coleman, Economics Editor, Newstalk 106-108; Matt Cooper, presenter Today FM’s The Last Word and Pat Leahy, Political Editor of the Sunday Business Post.

On Monday 7 December 2009, the IIEA’s Young Professionals’ Network held its Christmas event. A wine and mince pie reception was held for attendees on arrival, followed by a lively Review of 2009 with Matt Cooper, Pat Leahy and Marc Coleman.  

Each panellist reflected on 2009 as they experienced it, addressing issues such as the global financial crisis, Ireland’s economic recovery, unemployment, the future of Ireland’s political parties and the upcoming Budget.
