About the Speech:

On Monday 7 April 2008, The IIEA is delighted to host a keynote address by Jeremy Rifkin, President of the Foundation of Economic Trends and Advisor to the EU on "Energy in the 21st Century: The Third Industrial Revolution." Rifkin, a world renowned economist, will outline how Europe can once again lead the world in revolutionising industry to meet the future challenges posed by phenomena such as Climate Change and Peak Oil. In doing so he will convey his vision for the Third Industrial Revolution, which he has described as “ the greatest economic opportunity in History.

About the Speaker:

Jeremy Rifkin is one of the world’s thought leaders in economic trends. He is the founder of the Foundation on Economic Trends, a fellow of Wharton Business School and author of several best-selling publications on the topic. His most recent books include The Hydrogen Economy, The European Dream, The End of Work, The Age of Access, and The Biotech Century.

He acts in an advisory role to Commission President Barrroso, the European Parliament and European leaders such as Chancellor Merkel, PM Zapatero and Romano Prodi.. He is currently advising Slovenia’s EU presidency.
