About the Speech:
Soumitra Dutta addressed the Institute on the on the topic of "ICT and the Competitiveness of Nations, drawing on the most recently released Global Information Technology Report for 2010. This speech explored the methodology of the Report, outling the key indicators to explain the ranking. This speech complemented the ongoing national debate on how Ireland can fully embrace the knowledge economy and the European debate on the Commission's Digital Agenda.
About the Speaker:
Soumitra Dutta is an authority on all aspects of innovation in the knowledge economy. Soumitra has co-edited eight annual reports for the World Economic Forum on the impact of information technology on development and national competitiveness. He is one of few faculty members around the world who has been invited to Davos for more than ten years. Professor Dutta is Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Business and Technology and Dean of External Relations at INSEAD.
