About the Speech:

Mr. O’Rourke discussed how European Neighbourhood Policy has evolved in 2011 to meet the challenges of a changing neighbourhood. He spoke about the new instruments that have emerged to strengthen the relationship between the EU and its neighbours, as well as the prospects for a secure and democratic neighbourhood to the east and to the south. 

About the Speaker:

John O’Rourke is the Head of the ENP Strategy and Instruments Unit in the European External Action Service. He was previously the Head of European Neighbourhood Policy within the European Commission.
