European Central Bank Executive Board Member Lorenzo Bini Smaghi

About the Speech:

On Thursday 25 September 2008, Dr. Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, Member of the Governing Board of the European Central Bank visited the IIEA to give an address to members.

In his remarks he will reflected on such issues as the success of the Eurozone, ten years of the ECB, and the evolution of EMU.

About the Speaker:

The author of several articles and books on international and European monetary and financial issues, Dr. Bini Smaghi earned hisPhD in economics from the University of Chicago. Prior to his appointment to the Governing Board of the European Central Bank, he served as Director General for International Financial Relations in the Italian Ministry of the Economy and Finance.
