EU Peacekeeping in Action:  The Nordic Battlegroup

About the Speech:

The Nordic Battlegroup will be on standby for the next 6 months for the rapid deployment of civilian and military personnel in peace-support and humanitarian operations. Ireland is contributing 100 troops to the 2,600 strong force led by Sweden and including soldiers from Finland, Norway and Estonia.

Mr Daag, a former ambassador to Ireland, will elaborate on the dynamics of the Nordic Battlegroup and the concept of European Rapid Reaction more generally.
